This massive home was built for a Binghamton mayor, prominent judge and banker at an estimated cost of 100,000.00 to 119,000.00 and is the last remaining of what was a row of elegant homes on the east end of Court Street. This three story brick and stone Second Empire Victorian, French inspired home showcases superb masonry craftsmanship was constructed in 1870. Master Architect, Isaac Gale Perry was commissioned to build this magnificent structure on seven parcels of land on Court Street in Binghamton.
The gorgeous large iron fence that fronts the property was produced by the Titchener Iron Works and granite quoins at the corners of the house break the simplicity of the brick work as do the segmental keystones located over the windows. The interior of this home is a feast for the eyes, the use of fiddleback, birdseye, quartered maple, rare walnut, African mahogany, oaks with vast quantities of these wood hand carved are a sight to behold. Aside from the fantastic woods, and eight fireplaces, there are also ample amounts of imported marbles, tiles for decoration and specially designed chandeliers.
