Description
1923 Ford T-Bucket Roadster
Ford T-buckets are all based on the Ford Model T that have been extensively modified and are usually based on cars from the 1915 to the 1927 time frame. Since the 1920s, the Model Ts were hot rodded and customized and the name T-bucket seems to have been created and named by a gentleman name Norm Grabowski in the 1950 time frame. Real T-buckets sue the two seat body of a Model T roadster and can be found with or without the turtle deck or small pickup box. The bucket shaped design of the body shell is where the cars get their unique name.
Normally a Model T styled radiator will be utilized and the windshields (when the have one) are typically vertical pieces of glass like the original Model Ts used. Customized T-buckets usuallly have modest to outrageous V8 engines fitted into the frames, have very robust drivetrains to manage all the power they have and very large rear tires to get that power applied to the road. Front wheels on the T-buckets are typically very narrow when compared to the rears and in some cases even motorcycle wheels have been used.
