Description
Lake Eola Fountain, Orlando, Florida.
The original Linton E. Allen Memorial Fountain was built in 1957 and refurbished in 2011. It is recognized as the official icon of the City of Orlando. In the evening, the fountain comes alive with a choreographed show set to music. The colors of the water as well as the musical themes correspond with the season. Shows run nightly at approximately 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. and on average last about six minutes. The times of the shows change as the day become longer and it is not unusual for the programs to start at later times in the summer months. This is a beautiful part of downtown Orlando, there is a nice wide walking, jogging path that surrounds the entire lake as well as plenty of feathered wildlife in and around the lake. Great place to go and relax, take a ride in a paddle boat, take the kids as there are plenty of things to keep them occupied, take a nap or read a book.
