Description
Walkway Over The Florida Salt Water Marsh
This relaxing, several mile long pathway, part of the Robinson Preserve, will take you over and around several pools of seawater where it evaporates and leaves traces of salt behind. Many sections of the walkway are pier supported wooden paths over the salt marshes and through the mangrove habitat areas. The pathway eventually will lead you to a 40 foot tall observation tower that you can go up in and get a 360 degree view of the vast 487 acres of native Florida marsh land.
While walking around the preserve it is not uncommon to come across Roseate Spoonbills, Wood Storks, White Pelicans, Bald Eagles and Terns in their natural environment. Three miles of the trail in the preserve are paved with more than 5 miles of shell and coastal trails as well as many opportunities for paddlers to kayak or canoe through mangrove tunnels, marshes and much more. New sections are continually being added and upgraded adding more native Florida activity areas for the public to take advantage of.
