Saint Augustine Lighthouse Stairway, Saint Augustine Florida

Most instances show a photo of the stairs looking down from the top, for this version I was at the very bottom of the stairs looking toward the top.

The Saint Augustine Light Station is an active lighthouse and is located in Saint Augustine, Florida. This beautiful and majestic lighthouse can be found at the north end of Anastasia Island, construction of the light started in 1871 and was completed in 1874.

The Saint Augustine Lighthouse stands tall at 164 feet and located very near its base is a wonderful museum. Visitors to the light are able to climb the iron stairs to the top, step out onto the viewing platform and take in some wonderful 360 degrees of the Saint Augustine and surrounding area.
