Description
1936 Auburn Supercharged Boattail Speedster Convertible
Auburns were an American produced automobile manufactured from 1900 through 1937 and grew out of the Eckhart Carriage Company that was founded in Auburn, Indiana in the year 1874. In 1925, Errett Lobban Cord, completed the purchase of the Auburn Company and later in 1926 entered into a partnership with the Duesenberg Corporation and produced a series of high price luxury automobiles along with the front wheel drive Cord vehicles. The Depression, stock manipulation and financial fraud allegations by Cord, caused the Auburn Automobile Company to end production of automobiles in 1937 and brought an end to the Auburn organization.
The Auburn Supercharged Boattail Speedster was an extremely popular automobile of the Hollywood set due to their advanced engineering, striking appearance and that the supercharged model could easily top the 100 mile per hour mark.
