Artist's Description
1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS
The Camaro legend began on Sept. 29, 1966 when General Motors produced their answer to the very popular Ford Mustang. The plan with the Camaro was to put the sports car experience in the hands of the average American driver. Thes car featured a long hood, short deck, seating for four, and a unitized body construction with a separate front sub-frame. Only two Camaro models, the Sport Coupe and the Convertible were available, and each could be ordered with up to 60 different factory options, four of which were just the engines. Engine ranged from the 250 cubic inch straight-six to the 396 cubic inch V8. It is very interesting to note that every engine that came in every Camaro ever built by General Motors was of the pushrod-actuated valve design. There has never been an overhead cam engine option available in a General Motors factory built Camaro
