1969 Chevrolet Camaro Rally Sport
The 1969 Chevrolet Camaro was the last year of the first generation models of this iconic American sports car. The 1969 model kept the previous year model drivetrain and mechanical components as well as the hood and trunk deck. The remainder of the 1969 Camaro received all new sheet metal and this change provided the car a considerably sportier appearance. The grille was redesigned, headlights were inset quite deeply, door skins, rear quarter panels and a new rear valance panel caused the 1969 Camaro to produce a much lower, wider and macho appearance. The styling changes made to the 1969 Camaro were used only on this one year of production. The production year for the 1969 Camaro ran unusually long and extended well into November of 1969 caused by manufacturing issues that forced a delay of the second generation Camaro that GM had planned for 1970.
