Longboat Pass
Longboat Pass is located about nine miles southwest of Bradenton and 21 miles south of St. Petersburg, and provides a dependable, although shallow, entrance to Anna Marina Sound (at Gulf Intracoastal Waterway Mile 85) from the Gulf of Mexico. This view is taken from the Bascule Bridge, which connects Longboat Key with Anna Maria Island, looking to the West and the Gulf Of Mexico. The north end of Longboat Key is on the left and the southern end of Anna Maria Island is on the right. The beach, starting on the right hand side of the photo, runs well over 8 miles north and around the tip of Anna Maria Island with a multitude of public access points and parking lots along the way.
