Description
1954 Packard Patrician 4 Door Sedan - Series 5426
This particular example of the Packard Patrician is one of only 40 known to exist in service. This vehicle gave the appearance of being a daily driver. Of the 2,769 Patricians that were produced by Packard in 1954, the Packard registry records only 40. The Patrician, the senior Packard in the 1954 model year, is powered with the finest nine main bearing 359 cubic-inch straight-8 engine that was rated at 212 horsepower. This engine had an aluminum cylinder head and was equipped with a 4-barrel carburetor. This was the final year that Packard would use the straight-8 that saw its beginnings in 1924. The Packard Patrician series was produced from 1951 through 1956 and had the highest trim level available on a Packard. The final genuinely produced by Packard Patrician sedan left the assembly line on June 25, 1956 and was black in color. The Patrician model has the distinction of being the last of the top of the line Packard models built. These fine vintage automobiles were strikingly beautiful, somewhat exclusive and a joy to drive.
