Description
1961 C1 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible
The exterior styling of the 1961 Corvette received a face lift and it was the first Corvette that did not have the heavy teeth look to the grille area. The rear of the car was completely restyled, came with four tail lights which became a Corvette tradition and the exhausts now exited below the body on the 61s. Engine options that were very popular for the 1961 Corvette included a 283 cubic inch 315hp fuel injection option, a 283 cubic inch 270hp two four-barrel carburetor option and a 283 cubic inch 245hp two four-barrel carburetor option. This was the last year for the use of the 283 cubic inch engines in the Corvettes as well as dual-four barrel carburetors and was the last model that came with wide whitewall tires.
